Private equity house Equity-I is said to be actively seeking GSM and CDMA African licenses. “We are currently looking at seven opportunities and will be entering into exclusive due diligence periods over the next few months”, the source was quoted as saying. Equity-I is also understood to be in late negotiations on a sub-sahara telecom asset expected to be closing in the 4th quarter of 2007. No further details were available from the source.
